What is Domain Name Registration?

1. DOMAIN NAME and ACTION Give the name of the subdomain. This is the name that will be used in tables and lists associating the domain with the name server and IP addresses. The .co.za domain names that are delegated by UniForum S.A. are at the third level, for example: thisnetwork.co.za. Domain names in the CO.ZA zone are limited to 30 characters. The Action field specifies whether this is a 'N'ew application, an 'U'pdate or a 'D'eletion.	2. DOMAIN REGISTRANT and BILLING The name and postal address of the domain registrant. (Postal address and Street address, delimited with commas, on a single line please). Invoices are sent electronically.

3. CNAME - This section is no longer in use Should you be updating information other than the CNAME information for a current CNAME registration, leave the following three fields exactly the same as the current registration (Details can be found at http://whois.co.za/whois.shtml). If you are migrating a CNAME registration to a Nameserver registration (Section 6) leave the following blank.	4. ADMINISTRATIVE CONTACT It is necessary to provide details of a person who deals with the administrative matters of the registrant for .co.za domains. NAMESERVERS FOR THIS DOMAIN Domain administrators should provide at least two independent nameserver hosts for the requested domain. 9. PLEASE DESCRIBE YOUR ORGANISATION BRIEFLY. Information NOT on a labelled line will be ignored.	Nameserver records only require glue address records when the nameserver is a child of the domain being registered. Any glue address records that are provided for nameservers that are not a child of the domain being registered will be ignored. More than one glue address record may be specified for a single nameserver record as a comma delimited list. All nameservers should be operational before submitting this application. From Uniform co za Registrar

We continually urge ISP's and other agents not to register domain names in their own names if they are acting on behalf of a client. The correct way would be for the "True" Applicant (The company instructing the ISP, and being the company who ultimately makes regular use the domain name) to be listed in the domain name particulars as the Registrant,and possibly the Administrative contact. The ISP's particulars can be included as the Technical Contact Person.

NOTES: Almost all Hosting Companies Register themselves as the Administrative Contact which will block you from transfer unless they approve or accept that ticket. Here at HostCow we believe that you are the owner of the domain and you should have full control over it - We can manually submit a new ticket to the registrar after the 3 months grace period. Please send a request to support@jobdone.co.za to claim Admin of the Domain.

Remember that Your Domain Name is always registered in your name which will make you the Domain Owner.

Due to the CO.ZA registration process being largely automated, UniForum SA does not (and cannot be expected to) examine the correctness of domain name applications. We must therefor respect that the listed Registrant of a particular domain name is the person or entity to whom the domain name service is owed. If the listed Registrant happens to be your ISP or agent, you are urged to approach them immediately requesting that they correct the domain name particulars reflecting you or your company as the Registrant.
